- Flogos
- Flying logo bubble clouds, with a message.
The L.A. Times recently reported on an increasingly popular novelty in advertising: bubble-cloud adverts or Flogos. Created by combining soap suds with helium, these zephyr-esque flyers are cut into shape using custom-made stencils before being released into the wild.
Flogos were developed by special effects inventors Francisco Guerra and Brian Glover.(Splendidly, the Flogos website advises “Due to the fact that Flogos have minimal mass and are made out of 99% air, they do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Aviation Authority (F.A.A.). It is a standard Flogopolicy, however, that if a Flogo event is taking place within 5 miles of an airport, we notify the tower that we will be flying Flogos nearby.”)
